Coup against Denmark / Kuppen mot Danmark / 2003

Denmark. In the 1970s Denmark was a pioneer country for feminists with an active feminist movement; nowadays, the word feminist is an insult. Marcus Lindeen and I did a feature and interviewed both old and new feminists, as well as opponents, such as writer Henrik Dahl. The program also includes a meeting at a tabloid newspaper as we try to sell pictures of Marcus for their page 3 nude spot, which had never previously featured a nude male. The editor turns them down on the grounds that the pictures are too ugly. Our protest against Denmark also included burning a bra on the street. A gigantic Danish flag in the shape of a bra went up in smoke as we challenged Denmark to an equality duel. Danish radio also documented our coup.
